A Burmese traveller in Scotland c. 1875. This photograph - in the contemporary style of a "carte de visite" - was taken by the "photographic artist" Alexander Pithie at his studio on Mill Street in the small town of Alloa on the Firth of Forth (not far from Glasgow). There is no information found on the identity of this man or what he might have been doing in 1875 in traveling around the Scottish lowlands.
